Pune: A shopkeeper from Mundhwa was forced to transfer RS 18,000 in May after cyber fraudsters trapped him in the trick of “nude video calls” and threatened to make social viral calls on social media.
Police Cyber Pune registered the case on Sunday after the initial verification of the complaint.
It revealed a series of series of fraudsters who operated from Rajasthan, said a cyber police officer.
From January, cyber police have received 275 complaints like that.
Two suspects, whose involvement had been established at 150 of these complaints, is currently nesting in prison in Rajasthan for similar crimes there.
In the latter case, the police are collecting information related to the IP address from which the victim receives video calls.
