Pune: Koregaon Park Resident Alnesh Somji (37) and his wife, Lesung Pipit (38), who faced charges of deceiving one of their former employees and two other investors from RS3.37 Crore, arrested from Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGAI) in Delhi before They can fly to Canada.
In the FIR registered at the Koregaon Taman Police on October 27, Yogesh Dixit’s complainant accused that in 2010 Alnesh assured him to invest RS40 Lakh from retirement allowances received by his father (Dixit) in the real estate business and obtained a 24% refund per year.
The complainant said he got a return until 2018, and after that the company stopped giving him a return.
In Fir, Dixit named two other investors from Rasta Peth and Camp, including an old woman, who invested more than RS1 Crore each and alleged that the company collectively owed them RS3.37 Crore, including interest.
On October 29, the police issued a notification of observations for Somjis, because they did not appear in response to three calls, at all airports.
The city crime branch team brought the couple to detention in Delhi on Monday night.
“Both were taken to Pune after the Delhi Court on Tuesday issued a two-day transit warrant to facilitate their travel and production in front of the Pune Court,” said the Branch Inspector of the Crime Balaji Pandhare.
Alnesh’s father, Akil Somji, in a statement released through a PR agent, denied all the accusations leveled by Dixit.
He said Dixit acted with the intention of Mala Fide by not revealing to the police that Somjis had returned all his money on October 25 – two days before registration of FIR.
The statement said two other people, named as investors in FIR, did not submit any case and Somjis did not owe them.
Dixit told Tii, “I received money as it was claimed by Somjis, but after I approached the police with a complaint application and investigation began.
My family and I experienced difficult times for years to get our money back.” Inspector Pandhare said , “The complainant has so far given us a confirmation of receiving the money.
FIR is the highlight of the investigation process that starts 10 days before it is included.
The police have issued a call but Somjis does not respond.”
