PUNE: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Tuesday extended the deadline for payment of land taxation at discounted prices by per month until June 30.
“The PMC had introduced a unique strategy of 15% reduction to people who have paid taxation .
The deadline for this particular strategy has been May 31.
It’s been extended by a month,” said Hemant Rasane, the PMC standing committee chairman.
The standing committee accepted the proposal on Tuesday.
According to the information, the PMC got Rs770 crore from real estate tax.
From this, Rs546 crore was gathered in May.
The civic body gained tax against 5.5 lakh possessions in the past two months.
“Throughout the pandemic past period, the civic government’s funds were dwindling.
At that moment, the co-operation from taxpayers had aided the body a great deal in fulfilling its requirements.
The citizens have contributed their support throughout the initial two weeks of the fiscal year too,” explained Rasane.
The civic listing indicates that approximately 10.5 lakh properties fall under the tax net.
On a typical, Rs1,400 crore is gathered by means of this tax.
According to PMC officials, land tax is just one of the largest income resources for its civic body.
Other big income sources for your PMC is earnings from building consent.
