Pune: Transporter and daily commuters on Thursday called for further reduction in fuel prices, a day after the central decision to cut customs and diesel.
Ali Daruwalla, National Spokesman for the Indian Petrol Dealer Association, told TII that there were around 550 gas stations in Pune and many of them had suffered losses almost RS2 Lakh because of the purchase of fuel shares at higher prices.
“Because the celebration season, dealers have refueled from oil companies.
It is mandatory for dealers to have a three-day inventory.
With oil companies and banks are closed due to diwali and a long weekend, dealers buy additional fuels as top up from companies at a price higher, “said Daruwalla.
The price of fuel in the city has climbed firmally since the beginning of this year.
Gasoline prices violated the RS100 / Liter sign in May this year and passed RS115 on Wednesday this week.
“The state government must also take steps and reduce the tax, especially VAT, on fuel such as other countries.
Around a dozen countries have announced a VAT reduction.,” According to Daruwalla.
“Approximately 60% of different taxes and 40% are basic prices,” Daruwalla said.
Baba Shinde, Director of all Indian Motorcycle Transportation Congress in Maharashtra, told TI that further reduction needed.
