Pune: The number of people recovered from Covid-19 infection (11,638) exceeded new cases (10,981) after a 28-day gap in the Pune Metropolitan area on Tuesday.
In addition, 12 more patients gave up on infections in this region in the past 24 hours.
As many as 6,299 people recovered within the city limit of Pune as against 5,271 new cases on Tuesday, while rural areas and Cantonese joint recorded 2,137 patients and 2,189 recovery.
The increase in recovery also helped encourage the calculation of active cases in the region to 92,973 on Tuesday due to Monday’s count of 93,642.
90,126 patients were in isolation of houses in the region until Tuesday night, while 2,847 were treated in various hospitals.
With this the total case has jumped above 13.62 lakh, while recovery has increased above 12.49 lakh.
A report by Health Officers Bhagwan Pawar stated that 26,344 samples were examined for infections in the region on Tuesday.
Of these, 13,225 tests were carried out within PMC limits only, while 7,188 samples were examined in the PCMC area.
Examination of samples in rural areas and Cantonese reached 5,931.
Heath officials said they monitor cases in rural wood and urban pockets.
“Residents with symptoms and those who test infection must isolate themselves without delay to examine the spread,” said a health official.
Among the fatality Tuesday, seven deaths were reported within the PMC limit, 3 in the PCMC area and two in the rural part.
This region has recorded 19,399 deaths because Covid so far.
Health officials say citizens need to comply with the appropriate behavior of Covid considering the spread of omicron.
“It was because the second shot they had to get themselves vaccinated without further delay because studies have shown time and again that complete vaccination can help reduce the severity of the disease, while masks and social distances examine the spread,” said a health official.
