Pune: City retailers who sell important commodities have requested a 4pm deadline to be driven by three hours.
Retailers say allowed to open up to 7 nights will benefit customers and help finish shipping home orders.
Sachin Nivangunune, President of the Pune District Retailers Association, said they would immediately make a representation to the Division Commissioner, Commissioner of Pune City and Deputy Chief of Minister Ajit Pawar.
“The crowd on the market will decrease if the store can function for three more hours.
The private office can comply with the 4pm time limit, but there is no point in telling the shops to close so early.
We will immediately file a memorandum to the authorities,” said Nivangunune , Rakesh Shendkar, a grocery store from Shaniwar Peth, said the 4pm deadline could not be trusted.
“Many traders and customers face problems with home delivery.
The government may not apply a series of similar restrictions as everyone.
There is a rush on the market when the shops are closed on weekends.
Also, shop owners follow all the necessary precautions,” Shendkar said.
Suraj Shah, another trader, said the shop owner encouraged home delivery, but with the staff crisis, it was difficult to manage the counter and fulfill the order, all before the time limit of 4pm.
The Federation of Pune Trade Association (FTAP), an insignificant shop owner body, has also submitted a similar request to the Main Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
Ftap claims that morning hours are not suitable for doing business.
Ftap said that the not important shops must be allowed to operate starting at 11am to 8pm.
Mahendra Pititeriya, Secretary Ftap, said most traders have reported a business decline because this is limited.
“We lost two full days a week due to weekend closure.
Restrictions cannot be in the form of a long-term solution for anything,” added Pitaliya.
