Pune: Police Chatathrungi is investigating a case of fraud in which the suspects deceived a retired assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in a tone of Rs 49,000 on July 3, 2021.
According to the police, retired, a resident of Baner, received a call that said he had not renewed the KYC formality with the bank.
The caller said if the KYC formality was not updated, his account would be frozen.
After this, the caller sent him a text message that asked him to update KYC formalities online.
ACP retired clicking the link and filling out the form.
The caller then asked him to share OTP for further processes.
He shared OTP after that the suspects sucked RS49,000 from his bank account.
