Pune: River Rejuvenation Project to Sail in March

Pune: A painful waiting.
The ball “Pune River Rejuvenation Project” is set to roll around two months.
The five bidders have advanced to work on the Sangam Bridge to the Bundgarden stretch of 44km project, five years after the declaration.
Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) plans to spend around RS360 Crore to revive the banks of the river in the heart of the city, designed on the Sabarmati river development project pathway in Ahmedabad.
The tender for the first phase worked, stretching around 4 km, floating in October last year.
Pre-bidding meetings are carried out on January 10.
“The five bidders will be assessed based on their documents and experiences.
Even the financial capacity and other factors will be examined before giving work,” Yuvraj Deshmukh said, the official coordination of the Senior PMC project, added that the work is expected to begin at the ground level in February or March.
According to the tender, the first phase of the River Rejuvenation Project requires the beauty of the river from Sangam Ghat to the Bundgarden, put the cycle track along the river and facelift from the island rising.
Boating activities have been proposed in this phase, in addition to developing green plants along the cycle track to maintain temperature.
The River Rejuvenation Project Mula-Mutha 44km has been divided into 11 phases.
More than 32 km will be developed in the first four stages in public-private partnerships (PPP).
The tender for the second phase of RS-650 Crore from the project between the Bundgarden and Mundhwa will be opened in February.
River rejuvenation projects, if run in letters and spirits, can be a response that matches the Pune repetition petition for a neat and clean river bank.
“The river water is very dirty.
When we travel through Riverside Road, we feel embarrassed as citizens.
I am sorry for residents who live near the banks of the river, which are in very bad conditions.
The situation worsens every rainy season,” said the population of Peth Region.
Deepa Taware.
According to PMC officials, rejuvenation projects propose to protect low regions along the river because they flood by building various embankments that are well modulated along the bank.
“This project promises to reduce the impact of an obstacle that is built indiscriminately as bridges, crossways, weirs and examine the dam on the flow of water by removing, streamline, renovate or rebuild them.
This will help reduce the mercy area,” Banjiangi said “said a civic) official.
Concerns of Nirgudkar Shivajinagar is the absence of infrastructure to promote the awareness of the river environment among people.” We want to keep the river clean, but do not get enough support from the authorities.
Even basic facilities to immerse flowers and other religious offerings are not available near the rivers that make the city, push their pollution, “he said.
Vishal Chaudhari, a resident of the old part of the city, said the” Pune River Rejuvenation Project “would not serve what purpose Even if the first water and Mutha remain dirty.
“There is a need to make sure the water is clean.
It must be the first priority of the project.
The beauty work comes next, “he said , Open space and public pedestrians will preserve the natural environment along the river.
“Dependents will create a sustainable public domain.
They will make people movements easier along the river bank, “he said.
