Pune: Forest officials on Saturday seize 3 kg ambergris or spit out whales from the Pimbri Chinchwad area in Pune Maharashtra District and arrest six people, said an official.
Ambergris is a wax produced in the whale intestine, endangered species protected by wildlife laws (protection).
Ambergris sales, which are used to make perfumes, are prohibited by law.
“After receiving a tip-off on Saturday about several people who came to sell Ambergris, our officials trapped the trap and arrested six people.
About 3 kg ambergris and a vehicle confiscated,” said forest officials.
