Pune: Small private hospitals in the district will be given 22,500 doses of covishield.
The Directorate of Health Services will facilitate the distribution of vaccine doses to small private health hubs that are looking for less than 6,000 doses of covishield.
Sanjay Deshmukh, Assistant Director (Medical), Pune Circle, told Tii, “We must facilitate the purchase of a small private hospital vaccine from the two Indian Serum Institutes and Bharat Biotech.” Sanjay Patil, Chair of the IMA Hospital Board in India, said that around 15 small private hospitals will get a vaccine.
“This is good news not only for small hospitals but also for residents,” he said.
Deshmukh said the civil-managed vaccination site was given 60,000 doses of covishield and 22,720 covaxin doses on Friday.
Pune Rural received 25,800 covishield doses, followed by Pune Municipal Corporation (21,000 doses) and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (13,200 doses).
According to Cowin, 47,024 people were vaccinated in the district on Friday despite heavy rain.
Vaccination drives will be carried out in 196 central to the pune civic limit on Saturday.
About 190 sites will offer covishield and six covaxin.
Only Covaxin Woul is offered on four sites in Pimpri Chinchwad.
