Pune: More than 13,000 people with disabilities have been vaccinated against Covid in this district since special drives began to them in June.
According to the record, Pune Rural Administration has been vaccinated with 8,720 beneficiaries.
At Pune Civic Limit, PMC has covered 3,810 and in Pimpri Chinchwad, PCMC has provided Jab to 798 people.
District health officials say all civilized vaccination sites have had special drives for those who have disabled or have given them preferences in the queue.
Officials with PCMC said people with disabilities, pregnant women and transgender are some of the special categories given priority at the vaccination center.
Suryakant Devkar, PMC immunization officers, said special drives have benefited many beneficiaries.
“They (people with disabilities) can get their Jab by visiting the center too.
They will be given a vaccine in priority,” said Devkar.
On Sunday, the district received almost 98,500 covishield doses, which according to official must be good to continue to push until Tuesday Sanjay Deshmukh, assistant director (medical), said Pune Director (Medical), from 98,500 doses, around 42,400 given to Pune Rural, 34,400 to PMC and 21,700 to PCMC.
He said, “We have received around 22,000 covaxin doses on Friday.
Fresh batch covishield must increase the speed of vaccination in rural and urban areas.” For Monday, Devkar said PMC will operate 200 vaccination sites.
PCMC will only have a Covaxin drive in four centers.
On Sunday, around 21,400 beneficiaries were vaccinated against Covid in the district.
