Pimpri Chinchwad: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will offer a 50% neglect on cleanliness tax for housing communities that follow the Zerowaste concept.
If the community pays a delayed property tax before June 30 in one installment and regulates a composting system in the place and functional waste processing plant (STP) with the concept of zero-waste, they can use 50% cleaning tax.
A housing community with only STP and composting in place will get 30% neglect, while the community only has a composting unit in place will get 20% neglect on cleaning tax, official said.
Internal communication The PCMC tax department stated that the housing community within civilian boundaries, which is a bulk waste generator has been asked to start a composting system in a place to treat wet waste.
The initiative of the housing community can help reduce daily garbage collection within citizenship boundaries, which can rise to 1,100 metric tons per day.
Garbage is processed at Moshi Depo, official said.
Meanwhile, PCMC Commissioner Rajesh Patil in public notifications said that the housing society must start composting in their place or they will be responsible for actions under the Rules of Solid Waste Management 2016.
He added that even though he often reminded, the housing community violated composting rules, resulting in illegal waste disposed of in various civil regions.
Meanwhile, Mayor Pimpri Chinchwad Usha Dhore said on Thursday that the community level composting had been given a green signal on the basis of experiments to treat wet waste in two gardens.
If successful, it will be increasingly expanded to all gardens.
