Pune: The airport police are looking for several suspects to deceive a 37-year-old woman to the Tone of Rs 10.31 Lakh by promising handsome return on their investment in their company.
The woman filed a complaint with the police on Friday.
The police have registered a cheating case and criminal violations of the suspects.
“The woman, Dhanori residents, worked with IT companies in Kharadi.
He also invested in sharing and had a Demat account.
He manages his own transactions and shares,” said Sub-Inspector a R Gandhale.
“The suspects summoned the victim several times in March this year, and told him about their stock brokerage company.
They said they would manage their portfolio and promise handsome return on their investments in stock through their company,” Gandhale said.
The woman invested Rs 10.31 lakh in stock through the company in February and March this year.
“For two months, the suspects gave him the return and then stopped paying.
The woman waited for five months but the suspects continued to make false promises.
Recently stopped, they stopped answering their phone calls,” Gandhale said.
“The woman then realized that the suspects deceived him and approached the police,” he said.
The suspects told him that the company was located in Mumbai but it might be located elsewhere, Gandhale said.
