Pune: The count of patients with secondary dengue infection rises

Pune: Sagar (32) complains of high-quality fever, shortness of breath and severe weakness.
His blood test shows low hemoglobin, low white blood cells and platelet counts below 14,000.
The test of his heart and his kidney function is dimanangit.
Last week, Sagar was diagnosed with Hemophagocytic Limfohistiocytic (HLH) syndrome, the complication of dengue fever is increasingly reported.
The investigation revealed that complications came from secondary-blooded fever infections, which were confirmed after he tested positive for two different dengue antibodies – IgM and IgG.
While the Dengue IgM antibodies showed the latest infection, Dengue IgG antibodies showed past infections.
Different dengue virus tensions have infected Sagar for the second time.
The first dengue infection with different tensions will be months or years ago.
Dengue Secondary is the biggest risk factor for severe dengue fever and doctors see the increase in such cases in Pune for the past two months.
Doctor Ruby Hall Clinic Abhijit Lodha said, “Labble, we see a surge quite a lot of secondary-blooded fever infections in Pune where dengue fever is very severe and patients experience many complications.” Lodha has seen 15 cases of secondary-blooded fever infections in the last few days.
Approve, Abrarali Dalal, Chief Executive Officer, Sahyadri Hospitals said, “We have recorded five cases of secondary-blooded fever infections in the past few days.” “As long as the primary-blooded fever infection (first), the level of the Dengue Antibody IgM patient was very high but they tested the negative for the Dengue IgG antibodies.
But in secondary-blooded fever infections, patients tested the two antibodies.
And their IgM antibody level was lower than IGG,” Lodha said.
The IgG level actually increases during secondary infections.
The doctor can measure the amount of IgM and IgG to find out whether a patient has a secondary or secondary dengue infection, Lodha said.
Secondary dengue can manifest as persistent vomiting, stomach softness, accumulated fluid in the lungs and stomach, bleeding, letharry and anxiety, jaundice and very low blood pressure (shock).
“It is rarely patients can develop HLH (as in the Sagar case), which results in abnormal activation and disregulated from our immunity because of dengue infection,” said Head of Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital Prasad Rajhans.
Senior doctors and intensivist Rajesh Gadia have seen 50 cases of secondary-blooded fever infections since July.
“In the secondary dengue infection, the dengue antibodies of the Patients showed a surge in the first five days, and then he tested positive for IgM antibodies.
We saw a number of patients who were quite large with secondary infections in Pune.”
