Pune: City police have arrested the main suspect (21) at the brutal murder on Tuesday from a 14-year-old girl near Yash Hawns in Bibvewadi and detained three small maids, who played a different role in crime.
The police have also restored helicopters and knives, which are used to execute murder, from ownership of one of the minors.
It is separated from sharp weapons and the police toy gun has recovered from a bag found at the crime scene.
The victim has maintained 44 stab wounds on the face, neck, chest, hands and calves.
A police officer on Wednesday said the girl’s head was almost cut off from her body because of the attack.
“We have solved this case with the arrest and detention of the main suspects from three minors,” said Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta.
DCP (Zone V) Namrata Patil said, “The 21-year-old major suspect (name was arrested), who was the girl’s cousin, managing a snack center in PimPRI, where three minor helpers, between 15 and 17 years old, were working with him .
The overall situation pointed to the planned murder.
The girl consistently refused the main suspect allowance for a relationship and their family had also warned the main suspect to stay away from the girl.
He took a grudge about this and finally committed a crime.
“The officer said , “Two small suspects were arrested from the Bibvewadi area on Tuesday night, while children under the third have been driving back to Ravet on the motorbike.
The main suspect has used a bicycle to reach the crime scene.
Our team held up the third minor of Ravet.” He added, “Police Bharati Vidyapeth detained the main suspect during early Wednesday when he was found wandering aimlessly and questioned by two inhabitant.
The main suspect then admitted to the police that he had killed the girl to follow which, a team of Bibvewadi police came and arrested him.
