Pune: A survey of industries and services in this district has shown significant recovery in work and production levels after ease on the covid-induced sidewalk.
Industrial representatives say supply chain problems and fear will be new restrictions inhibit a better recovery.
Data on the Mahrorma, Industrial and Agriculture (McCIA) chamber (MCCIA) shows that August was a month of improvement marked over the past few months, since the emergence of second covid waves.
Observers say restrictions that subside, especially in services such as malls, restaurants and tourism, bring more people back to work and have a positive effect on the economy.
The level of production and work increases, as is optimism about returning to the level of work and pre-covid production.
Of the approximately 150 entities surveyed, 37% of them said they had returned to the level of pre-pandemic production, an increase of more than 30% in July.
The micro and medium industries are enhanced by 5% and 7%, while large industries and services increase by around 6%.
“Manufacturers still face the challenges of high raw material prices and increase shipping costs.
