Pune: Police Sahakarnagar is looking for a tour operator for failing to restore RS11.27lakh to seven senior citizens who pay money to regulate the Cullu-Manali tour which was canceled after locking in last year.
Police initiate actions on the basis of complaints registered by 71-year-old Bibvewadi residents.
The senior group of citizens made reservations in December 2019 and the tour will take place in March-April last year.
The tour was canceled after the national locking announced by the central government because of a pandemic.
When they demand a refund, the operator told them that he had paid money for hotel bookings and to another agency.
Then, he locked his shop and ran.
Police said the operator took money towards booking hotels, food and airplane tickets and local transportation vehicles to move in Kullu-Manali, and adjoining areas.
The police said he had promised a refund when receiving money from airlines and hotels.
However, he closed his shop and fled in March this year, police said.
