Pune: Wanowrie police on Friday posted a woman and her relatives on charges of defeating a 53-year-old small construction entrepreneur to death on Thursday night at Mohammedwadi.
“The incident was produced from the affair, the victim with the woman, who was a worker on the construction site,” said Senior Inspector Deepak Lagad.
“We have registered cases based on early postmortem findings,” Lagad said.
“Daughter-in-law has registered complaints accusing the Duo of defeating his father-in-law with a wooden stump,” he added.
“The victim’s wife has left him because of his affair,” Lagad said.
On Thursday night when the victim went to meet the woman, the victim’s wife and his relatives struggled with stumps, hands and feet.
“Later, they visited Chowkey Police Mohammadi and after several discussions gave a written statement that they had no complaints against each other,” Lagad said.
He said the police in Chowkey had told the victim to visit a doctor, because he suffered an injury in the attack.
However, the victim did not meet the doctor.
“After some time he was found lying on the road.
The police took him to the nearest doctor, where his blood pressure was found low.
He immediately suggested treatment at the hospital,” Lagad said.
The officer said the police took him to a private hospital but he was refused to enter there.
“Our team took him to the Sassoon Hospital and on our journey also told the daughter-in-law of the victim,” said Lagad added, “However the victim was declared dead on the arrival of a doctor.”
