Pune: A 28-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly deceiving a man of Rs 60 lakh through a friendship club in Pune Maharashtra City, police said on Saturday.
According to the police, the defendant, who was arrested on Friday, had advertised about the friendship club in a newspaper, a man who promised a date with a famous woman.
When the victim contacted the defendant, he was told that he had to pay the deposit of Rs 2 Lakh, after he was then asked to do some payment of Rs 60.2 lakh, an official said.
Based on technical analysis and details of bank accounts, the police focused on charges, which was a population of Wanawadi, he said.
The case has been registered in this matter and the police are now investigating if the defendant has also deceived other people, officially more.
