Pune: A 31-year-old woman from Pune allegedly stripped and smeared with ash by her in-laws, as part of the black magic ritual initiated by a Godman who convinced them that it would result in a boy.
According to the complaint registered at the Chakan Police Station in Pimpri Chinchwad, the woman and mother-in-law was allegedly taking her to a Godman in Khed Tehsil from Pune District where Godman asked him to eat ash in front of him and also gave some ashes to his mother-in-law to be applied to the body that woman.
Her husband and mother-in-law after reaching the house allegedly stared at him naked and applying ash and mustache and kumkum (vermillion powder) on his body as part of the black magic ritual.
The case has been registered at the Chakan Police Station in Pimpri Chinchwad based on the complaint of the woman against her husband, mother-in-law and Godman.
Women in his complaint alleged that his father-in-law continued to harass him because he could not give them the heir of men for the past four years.
He further alleged that they even harassed him to dowry and had sent him back to his parents for several months.
The woman also complained that her husband also remarried so he could get a son, without informing or taking his approval.
All defendants have been arrested and ordered based on Section 354, 498 (a), 323, 504, 506, 34, 3 and 25 IPC along with section 3 Maharashtra prevention and eradicating human sacrifice and other inhumane, evil, and aghori practices and other Black Magic Act, 2013.
Further investigation is underway.
