Pune: The health department of Pune Zilla Parishad conducted an examination of more than 48,000 children aged 3.35 lakh between zero and six years over the past four weeks.
Zilla Parishad plans to complete the screening all at the end of December.
This drive aims to provide medical assistance on time to children at the village level and have assumed the importance of considering the ZP survey that found 1,248 malnourished children in the district in 2020.

First, Aanganwadi workers at the village level have registered the names of children in zero to six age groups in this district.

Zilla Parishad has conducted an online training from all 410 public health workers (Chos) working in the sub-center in the rural part of Pune District.
In the past, health officials from various government departments and institutions were used to conduct children’s health checks at their level.
“However, we have never produced a comprehensive health data of a child.
Therefore, many of them do not get timely quality and health care in the district,” said an ZP official.
With a new system, Girase says officials get child health data every day.
“If a child needs special care, we will make the necessary arrangements in a government or private hospital depending on the maintenance needed.
If needed, ZP will pay the maintenance costs of the subsidiary,” said Girase.
Chief Executive ZP Ayush Prasad said the three-branch strategy, which must be for children’s health, including early diagnosis, timely referral and active management, and will be overcome by this initiative.
“We will soon hold special camps for children in Taluka Level to provide special care in this district.
