Pune: October heat has returned.
The temperature of the day has surged to 33-34 ° C in most cities.
“October is a transition month, with a post-monsoon period gradually moving to winter.
The Monsoon’s retreat from Pune has cleaned the sky, and partly cloudy for the clear sky has caused the maximum temperature to cross 33 ° C in most locations in Pune,” Anupam Kashyapi, Head of the Weather Forecasting Division at IMD Pune, told TI.
He said the sky was clear, it was usually seen in the last half of October, because it was not only a maximum temperature increase, but also a bit of a blessing at night temperature.
“Especially the clear sky causes the night temperature to fall as a warm and friendly long wave radiation gets the chance to escape into the atmosphere, some are not blocked during a sunny night.
Instead, the clear sky in the day causes sun radiation directly to the earth’s surface, Make it warmer, “explained Kashyapi.
Kashyapi said that there were still quite large moisture in the air.
“The days feel warmer than the real thing because the increase in moisture has pushed the ‘hot index’ or real temperature.
Pune can record a day temperature of around 33 ° C, but it feels like 36-37 ° C because of the moisture level,” he said.
Gradually, the day temperatures can rise to the threshold of 35 ° C with the emergence of two weeks of the second October, he said.
“Likewise, the minimum temperature can gradually float below 19-20 ° C.
The minimum temperature has been dipped in 18-19 ° C in the city.
Diurnal variations stand out in the city during October,” he said.
Kashyapi said that the system above Bay of Bengal is likely to cause some clouds on pune on Sunday but it will not cause a significant daily temperature decline.
“Clouding will last only for a day.
But because the system will cause moisture attacks, and maybe there are not many controlling effects at the temperature of the day, the temperature will later look higher,” he said.
On Saturday, Chinchwad was the warmest location in Pune with a temperature of 34.6 ° C, followed by Magarpatta at 33.8 ° C, Lohegaon at 33.5 ° C and Shivajinagar at 33.4 ° C.
Indian Meteorology Department has estimated the maximum temperature in the range of 33 ° C and 35 ° C in the city for the next few days.
