Chandigarh / Jalandhar: After the Punjab Chair of the Captain Amarinderal Singh announced the rise of 50 per quintals in the price (sap) of sugar cane for the 2021-22 season, sugar cane farmers on Tuesday called on their sustainable agitation.
Payjab Cane Farmers will now get the Sap of Rs 360 per quintal, namely Rs 2 higher than that in neighboring Haryana.
The Main Minister held a meeting with the Union of Farmers in Punjab Bhawan in the afternoon where he said that the state fiscal situation had prevented the increase in SAP for the past 3-4 years.
Sugar cane farmers have been driven on the national highway and the railway on Jalandhar, indicating that Punjab failed to climb sugar cane like Haryana, causing fiscal losses to them.
Farmer representatives, including Balbir Singh Rajewal, offered Punjab CM Amarinder Singh Sweets after he announced Hikeamarinder said when he was always with the farmers and wanted to do his best for their welfare, the fiscal crisis of the Punjab had prevented it from increasing the previous sap.
He added that farmer equalizing needs with people from cooperatives and private sugar factory owners were difficult in the applicable fiscal situations.
Former Minister of Cabinet Rana Gurjit Singh, itself owner of the sugar factory, supports farmers’ requests to increase sap.
Rajewal asked the farmer to return to the Delhi border of Sanjha Kisan Morcha, who had pioneered sugar cane farmers, including Balbir Singh Rajewal, said they were happy with the decision of CM fixing the sap at Rs 360 per quintal and had decided to end them up.
Rajewal said that farmers will now return to the Delhi border to protest three controversial agricultural laws.
Meanwhile, the lift of blockade from the national highway and the railway on Jalandhar at night came as a big assistance for the people, who had taken a detour after sugar cane planter protest began on Friday morning.
The captain’s troops at the meeting meeting, held after nearly 32 MLA congresses and ministers, including the Minister of Cooperation of Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, had often rebelled against Amarinder in the morning, attended by Randhawa even though he was seen sitting away from the minister of chairman.
Another leader present was Minister of Health Balbir Singh Sidhu, MPS Preneet Kaur and Partap Singh Bajwa, Mlaas Rana Gurjit Singh, Raj Kumar Verka, Fatehjang Singh Bajwa, Navtej Singh Cheema and Sushil Kumar Rinku.
The Chairperson of Punjab Bathroom Board Lal Singh and Chairman of Sugarfed Amrik Singh Alwal is also there.
