Jalandhar: Chararjit Singh Channi has become not just the first Minister of Punjab Dalit-Sikh but also the first of the Puadh Punjab region to hold a post.
The area he has is often miscorred as part of Malwa while this region has an old identity, different and even has his own dialect of Punjabi – Puadhi.
In fact, Chandigarh is also fully carved from villages in the Puadh area.
India’s first Defense Minister Baldev Singh was the first leading politician of this region before and after the partition.
He has become a minister in the Punjab government before 1947 and opened the first government Gollege in the region in Ropar.
