New Delhi: The Head of Punjab Minister Amarinder Singh will meet President Sonia Gandhi’s Interim congress on Tuesday amid the efforts of the party to resolve the ongoing crisis in the State Unit.
The meeting came a few days after the Sulking Punjab Congress Leader Navjot Singh Sidhu had met Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka.
Rahul and Priyanka’s meeting with Sidhu considered the significance because both of them had not met Amarinder Singh when he was in the national capital to meet senior party leaders who tried to complete the factions in the State Unit.
Amarinder Singh and Sidhu have been in Loggerheads and have thorns openly with each other.
Congress has formed a three-member panel to find a way to bring together different factions in the state unit ahead of the election of assembly next year.
The panel, led by Malikarjun Kharge, has submitted his report to Sonia Gandhi.
Rahul has met several senior leaders and selected representatives in the state to find a solution for the ongoing upheaval between the two leaders.
Sidhu was part of the Amarinder Singh cabinet before he quit the Ministry in 2019 after his portfolio was changed.
Sidhu has vocal about the difference with the minister’s chairman and openly criticized his policy.
His newest salvo about the power crisis in the state was used by opposition Shiromani Akali Dal to target the Amarinder government.
He has attacked the minister’s Chairperson of alleged delay in justice at the 2015 Pension Incident and the next police.
In response, Amarinder slammed Sidhu because he continued to attack him over the problem of the beating and called the former explosion as “total dissipline”.
