Punjab: Desa Moga Brings ‘Grow Trees, Get Money Offers’

Bathinda: After making its own arrangement for plant residual management by providing incentives to farmers who do not burn stump plants, Ranssih Kalan village which is environmentally friendly Panchayat in Moga Regency has stepped further and started the money scheme ‘.
Panchayat has decided to pay Rs 100 to every villagers to plant young trees and care for them.
It has arranged 12 pieces of fruit varieties from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana.
The brain behind this movement is the village of Sarpanch Kuldeep Kaur Preeting Pal Singh, better known as Mintu Sarpanch.
This scheme was launched on Wednesday and has found many takers.
“When we look at the sky, especially in winter, we can see pollution in the environment.
Even our water is contaminated.
Last year we started a campaign to stop farmers from plant residues that burn by offering Rs 500 per hectare as cash incentives to those who have ownership Up to 2.5 hectares.
Now we have started to provide an incentive RS 100 per young tree.
We want more trees planted and get an extraordinary response.
Many villagers will advance to grow puppies for worrying about pollution, “said Mintu to Ti .
Last year, Panchayat Village had won over farmers against burning plant propellers and provided compensation for Rs 500 per Acre to 125 farmers.
Panchayat Village saves the money to a bank account from the beneficiaries after verifying their anti-stump burning declaration.
This scheme will continue this year too.
Panchayat has bought plant residual management machines (CRM) with 80% subsidies.
This machine is provided free for small and marginal farmers.
Even the tractor is provided without charging any of the farmers who cannot afford it.
Panchayat has even built a sewerage processing plant in the village, and a lake to supply water to agriculture for irrigation.
This village is more worried about saving used water, such as out of air conditioning and left by guests when offered to drink.
In other developments, Pancrayat provides sugar or jaggery to make a plastic free village.
It has started a health insurance scheme of Rs 1 Lakh by collecting only RS 1.
As a source of income, the village has 5 general land acres.
In addition, villagers contribute to the development of the village, become NRIS.
Panchayat Village has won two national awards, Pancrayat Shashaktikaran Puraskar and Gaurav Gram Sabha Puraslass, because they do not burn agriculture and other developments in the village.
However, Pancrayat returned both awards in Delhi on December 9, 2020, in protest against three Central Agri marketing laws.
