Ludhiana: Private Embatel Hospital Under Healthy Sabbat Bima YOJNA (SSBY), the health insurance scheme run by the Punjab Government, will not reject treatment for beneficiaries after Deputy Minister of Chief Soni on Sunday held a meeting with the Indian State Entice Medical Association ( IMA) and SBI insurance companies and peacefully solve all problems between them.
The meeting took place at the Circuit House, Ludhiana, in the middle of the Report of the Empaneled Hospital rejected treatment to the beneficiary of SSBY.
Soni, who also holds a portfolio as Minister of Health, said that all problems about payment were delayed and other anomalies had been cleaned.
He said that the insurance company would pay Rs 30 Crore to the hospital in the next two days besides removing the remaining payment immediately.
He also said that the complaints committee will be formed consisting of officials from the Ministry of Health, insurance companies and representatives of the IMA State Body.
Soni also informed that the ambites insurance scheme was set to enlarge to cover 1.5 million families and Main Minister Chararjit Singh Channi will make a formal announcement in this matter.
Soni said that this would result in an extension of free maintenance insurance benefits to RS 5 Lakh per year which will be given to parts of the community who previously lost this scheme.
He also appealed to the hospital not to refuse treatment to beneficiaries in any situation and add state governments to commit to providing the best health services to poor people under the scheme.

Kuldeep Singh Arora, Ima Punjab President, thanked Soni for sorting out complaints between IMA and insurance companies.
He said that Ima had never had a problem with the Punjab government, but with insurance companies as payment worth Rs 140 Crore was waiting because private hospitals facing the acute financial crisis.
Arora said that all problems had been resolved between IMA and insurance companies.
