Punjab gives prosecution sanctions in 2 blasphemy cases

Bathinda: Moving quickly on election issues, the Punjab government has gave sanction prosecution in contrary cases involving crimes under the part of 295A and 153A from the KUHAP (IPC).
Punjab Additional Chief Secretary (Home and Justice Affairs) Anurag Aggarwal on Friday gave prosecution sanctions based on part 196 CRPC in two cases.
The first case was related to attaching demeaning posters in Bargari in Faridkot on September 25, 2015, and the second case was about the torn pages of the Granth Sahib teacher beer scattered in Bargari on October 12, 2015.
Sanctions have been provided Agency accused Sukhjinder Singh, Shakti Singh, Singh Baljit, Ranjit Singh in the first case, and against Sukhjinder Singh, Shakti Singh, Singh Baljit, Ranjit Singh, Nishan Singh and Pardeep Singh in the second case.
Prosecution sanctions are needed for cases involving parts of IPC 295A (intentional and dangerous actions, intended to make angry religious feelings of any class by insulting religion or religious beliefs) and 153A (promoting hostility between different groups, races, Place of birth, place of residence, language and perform actions for harmony maintenance).
“When a special investigation team (sitting) has submitted Challsan in both cases, prosecution sanctions are needed to move forward.
Sanctions have been provided now,” said Head Head IG Surnereral Singh Parmar.
Sukhjinder Singh, Shakti Singh, Ranjit Singh and Baljit Singh have received guarantees in both cases, while the Bail Nishan Singh and Pardeep Singh application is expected to be taken on August 3 by the Faridkot court.
