Punjab Green Close Down to 3.67%

Bathinda: In the midst of increasing concerns about the environment, forest cover in Punjab has decreased 2 square kilometers in 2021 compared to 2019.
Forest cover has declined to 1,847 square kilometers from almost 1,849 square kilometers in 2019, from a total of 50,362 square kilometers of geographical regions in the country part.
Forest cover is only 3.67% in Punjab by opposing 21.71% in this country.
In India, 7.13,789 square kilometers are under the forest of 32.87,469 square kilometers of geographical regions.
In addition, there are 95,748 square kilometer tree cover, which is 2.91% geographical area, taking a total cover to 24.62%.
Data was released on Thursday when the Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav released the Indian Forest State Report (ISFR) 2021.
In accordance ISFR 2021, in Punjab, there was a “very crowded forest” in 11 square kilometers, “the forest is quite thick “At 793 square kilometers while” Open Forest “is 1,043 square kilometers.
Punjab has booked a forest (RF) of 44 square kilometers, protected forest (PF) of 1,137 square kilometers, without 1.903 square kilometers and the total forest area recorded 3,084 square kilometers which constitute 6.12% of the geographical area.
