PATIALA: Power engineers in Punjab and Haryana will join their colleagues from all over the country in protesting their respective power utility headquarters and producing stations against electricity bills (amendments), 2021, on the first day of parliamentary winter session.
V K Gupta, spokesman for all Indian power engineers Federation, said the true purpose of the bill is to privatize the electricity distribution with the pretext of giving consumers the choice to choose their distributors to their services cheaper and better.
Distribution will be a particular monopoly operator, said Gupta.
