NEW DELHI: Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh Provides tap water Links to all rural Families by the end of the year, the Jal Shakti Ministry said on Saturday.
Rs 50,000 crore was allocated in this year’s Budget to its Jal Jeevan Mission which intends to offer tap water links to rural families by 2024.
The ministry, in an announcement, said,”It’s been determined in the five northwestern states and UTs — Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh — execution of Jal Jeevan Mission is going to be expedited and each rural family will be supplied with tap water relations from 2022, rather than 2024.” To allow these countries and Union Territories to attain this target by 2022, the Jal Shakti Ministry has declared a fundamental allocation of Rs 8,216.25 crore at 2021-22, it stated.
This is over four times the feasibility to such countries and UTs at 2020-21.
In Haryana, from 31.03 lakh families, just 17.67 lakh (57 percent ) had softened water relations prior to the statement of their Jal Jeevan Mission on August 15, 2019.
Underneath the Jal Jeevan Mission, 10.24 lakh rural families are supplied tap water links in 21 weeks.
With this 33 percent boost in tap water links, today 28.34 lakh (91.32 percent ) rural houses in Haryana are becoming tap water source.
The ministry stated 5,150 villages, 68 cubes and eight districts in the country have complete tap water distribution and eight districts have over 90 percent of homes with piped water link.
Haryana has intended to offer tap water links to 2.61 lakh families in 2021-22 as well as the rest 1.48 lakh families in 2022-23, ” it stated.
At the time that the assignment was started out of 17.03 lakh homes in Himachal Pradesh, just 7.62 Lakh (45 percent ) needed a tap water source.
In such 21 months, 5.45 lakh (32 percent ) families are supplied with tap water links.
Currently, 13.08 lakh (76.7 percent ) rural houses in Himachal Pradesh have tap water source and also three districts, 11 cubes and 8,638 cities at the country are becoming’Har Ghar Jal’.
The country is about to offer tap water source to each rural home of 18,079 villages by 2022, ” the ministry stated.
In Punjab, just 16.78 lakh (48 percent ) rural families had tap water distribution before the beginning of the mission.
In the previous 21 months, 9.97 lakh rural families were supplied with a tap water link.
With this 28.7 percent grow, today, 26.75 lakh (77 percent ) rural families in Punjab get tap water source.
Beneath the assignment, it’s intended to supply 8.87 lakh families with tap water relations from 2021-22.
From 18.16 lakh rural families in Jammu and Kashmir, just 5.75 lakh (31.7 percent ) families had piped water source before the assignment.
In such 21 months, regardless of the COVID-19 pandemic, lockdown and disruptions, 4.30 lakh (23.69 percent ) families are supplied tap water relations.
In Jammu and Kashmir, 10.05 lakh (55.7 percent ) rural families are becoming tap water source.
It’s planned to offer tap water links to 4.91 lakh families in 2021-22 and also to 3.27 lakh families in 2022-23, ” the ministry stated.
In the event of Ladakh, just 1,414 (3.2 percent ) houses needed a tap water source until the mission started.
Underneath the JJM, in 21 weeks 2,760 (6.4 percent ) families are supplied with tap water links.
Despite obstacles like hard terrain, adverse weather and located habitations, Ladakh has intended to offer tap water links to 28,788 families in 2021-22 and 11,568 families in 2022-23, the ministry added.
