PATIALA: Aspirant Tickets for Congress Daaman Thind Bajwa, which was rejected by the nomination of Sunam Seat, has announced to submit a nomination as an independent candidate if the party failed to replace the Jaswinder Party of Singh Dhiman.
Dhiman is Amargarh’s nephew Mla Surjit Singh Dhiman.
Pasaman Bajwa fought and lost Sunam’s seat to Safe Arora AAP in the 2017 assembly election.
He got 19.4% of the vote, and also behind the sad candidate Gobind Singh Longowal, who got 27.36% of the vote.
Arora has won a seat with 46.86% of the vote.
Daunan is supported by Minister Punjab Chararjit Singh Channi, who has discussed a meeting in Sunam in his support and said the large crowd has confirmed that Daaman will win this time.
Despite being rejected by the ticket, Daaman kept his campaign in line with party candidates.
“The command of the Congress has promised to replace prospective petellings and will give me a ticket but if the party fails to make me a ticket a day, I will compete as independent.
I will submit my papers on Tuesday,” said Daaman.
“I work a lot on the ground for the past five years.
I was given a ticket by Rahul Gandhi last time who knew I could lose a chair in 2017 but had to work to win the next election.
For six months, I have asked the party to tell me if the party It reconsidered the Sunam seat and wanted to give a ticket to others.
I would not mind but it was unfair to announce the nomination at the 11th hour despite knowing that I had worked a lot and got a fortress.
I will not mind if candidates will be announced from Sunam, but giving tickets to outsiders only on the basis that candidates are relatives of MLA sitting from other constituencies cannot be tolerated.
All party surveys opposed Dhiman, who had entered Sunam only after his name was announced as a candidate.
The only achievement was that he was Sjit Singh Dhiman’s nephew , “he said.
When contacted, Dhiman said, “My residence is in Defeba, which is 7 km from Sunam.
I belong to Punjab and Sunam is part of my country.
Daunan does not mind when we fight from brass, but now the bone of the disparies is the refusal of the ticket.
I am Cannot reach to convince him, but it is a high command that decides tickets.
