PATIALA: Aspirant Tickets for Congress Daaman Thind Bajwa, which was rejected by the nomination of Sunam Seat, has announced to submit a nomination as an independent candidate if the party failed to replace the Jaswinder Party of Singh Dhiman.
Dhiman is Amargarh’s nephew Mla Surjit Singh Dhiman.
Pasaman Bajwa fought and lost Sunam’s seat to Safe Arora AAP in the 2017 assembly election.
He got 19.4% of the vote, and also behind the sad candidate Gobind Singh Longowal, who got 27.36% of the vote.
Arora has won a seat with 46.86% of the vote.
Daunan is supported by Minister Punjab Chararjit Singh Channi, who has discussed a meeting in Sunam in his support and said the large crowd has confirmed that Daaman will win this time.
Despite being rejected by the ticket, Daaman kept his campaign in line with party candidates.
“The command of the Congress has promised to replace prospective petellings and will give me a ticket but if the party fails to make me a ticket a day, I will compete as independent.
I will submit my papers on Tuesday,” said Daaman.
