Punjab Ramps Up Covid Vax Drive in the villages

Chandigarh: Under the fire because it fell behind in rustic coverage of Covid-19 vaccination, the state of the pollop of Punjab had provided around 34% more JAB for rural populations compared to urban partners in the last 12 days in 12 days.
The increase in the number was the result of the Indian Election Commission (ECI) urged to increase the coverage of the vaccine to elect the ‘Covid Safe’ and employees from the National Health Mission (NHM) who returned to work after a two-month strike.
Although 62.5% of the Punjab population living in rural areas, the country’s rural population was behind in a race to vaccinate Covid-19.
The percentage of share in rural vaccination is at 52% of the national average of 61%.
Punjab’s rural share in vaccination fell from 66% to 52 between October and December while, at the All-India level, the proportion of people living in rural areas that received their vaccine dose was 70%.
After a slow start in January, the vaccine speed has chosen steps.
In the past 12 days, 28.03,607 doses were given to the beneficiaries who qualified, more than 22% higher than the total of 2,236,575 doses given in December.
According to vaccination data, the share of receivers who live in urban areas is more than just rural areas until 9 January.
However, from January 10 and so on, the number of rustic people stabbed the number of their urban partners.
28.03,607 people were immunized between January 10-21, 19,26,922 were residents of rural areas.
The daily rate is higher between 27% to 61% in rural areas.
On January 16, the number of people who took Jab in rural areas was 91,953 against an urban number of 35,723 (61%) while on January 20, rural population shares were 2.17,122 and urban 91,973 (58%).
Likewise, on January 21, as many as 1,93,609 receivers from 2,75,593 (58%) came from country rural areas.
Punjab Covid-19 Nodal Officer Dr.
Rajesh Bhaskar shares that ahead of the State Assembly election, the Ministry of Health is eying to maximize vaccine coverage with a special focus on rural areas.
He said that the department organized special camps and also went from door to door due to individual immunization that qualified.
Because vaccines are considered the best protection method of viruses, along with safety precautions, health experts have emphasized stress to complete the earliest vaccination drive.
Punjab has partially vaccinated by around 88% and provides a mandatory dose to 55% of its qualified population.
