Chandigarh: In the middle of the ongoing pandemic, around 50 COVID-19 cases and co-dengue infections have been reported in the case of Punjab where patients have tested positive covid and dengue.
Some infected patients have dengue dominant (diseases caused by dengue viruses), while covids – respiratory diseases caused by the SARS-COV-2 virus – are dominant co-infections in others.
Because most Covid cases are asymptomatic, health experts have warned that in co-infection settings, these combinations can increase the severity of the two diseases.
The outbreak of dengue fever during the ongoing pandemic has increased the pressure on the doctor, because it is not easy to distinguish symptoms because of the overlapping clinical presentation of the two diseases.
“The right time and appropriate management is very important to avoid complications that destroy severe forms of infection,” said Dr.
Gupta, which also emphasized the re-confirm of dengue serology in Covid-infected.
Dr.
Gupta also called for the need to develop an accurate treatment point for prevention of both diseases.
Punjab has reported a number of cases of cases of unprecedented dengue fever.
The state has exceeded the highest of 15,398 cases of previous dengue fever in 2017 by registering 16,129 cases.
In addition, 61 suspected deaths have been reported until 30 October.
From 2018 to 2020, the state has witnessed a steady decline in dengue cases.
Mohali launched a list with 2,531 cases, followed by 2,114 people who tested positive Dengue in Bathinda, 1,504 in Hoshiarpur, 1,489 in Amritsar, 1,479 in Pathankot, 1,242 in Muktsar and 1,198 in Ludhiana.
Dr.
Gagandeep Grover, Punjab Nodal Officer for diseases transmitted through vectors, associates the wave if the increase in testing, prolonged monsoon and lack of public participation.
Against 18,000 tests conducted last year, the Ministry of Health has collected and examined 40,680 samples so far this year.
Dr.
Grover said during the inspection carried out by a different team, the transfer of water was seen in most houses, which became the perfect breeding place for mosquitoes.
“The government makes every possible and public effort need to be rewarded by taking all the precautions and keeping the environment clean,” said Dr.
Grover.
Covid beds for DeGnue patients, steep increases in cases of dengue fever placing pressure on health infrastructure, the Ministry of Health has ratified a government hospital to use the bed provided for Covid-19 patients.
Punjab Covid-19 Nodal Officer Dr.
Rajesh Bhaskar said the residential bed for Covid had dropped significantly.
He said the bed provided for Covid can be used to treat blood-blooded fever patients whenever needed.
The health department data stated 9,357 oxygen beds from 9,565 empty at 5pm on October 30, while 1,541 of 1,596 ICU beds were not inhabited.
