CHANDIGARH: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Friday announced that the party would prepare election manifesto for the 2022 Punjab legislative assembly polls by October.
The manifesto would include only those demands of the government employees which could be fulfilled unlike the Congress which made tall and false promises, he added.
Chairing a meeting with ‘Mulazam Front’ of the party, in which front leaders submitted a memorandum to him, the SAD president insisted that the Akali Dal would include only those demands which could be fulfilled.
He alleged political parties like the Congress believed in making false promises to the employees and other sections of society to mislead them with the sole motive of achieving power.
Sukhbir said that like earlier, it was emerging that SAD would have to implement the latest pay commission report after forming the government in the state in 2022.
He said the district-level organisational structure of the government employees’ front would be announced by the end of July.
If the government failed to accept demands of people then SAD would intensify its agitation, the former deputy CM said.
He promised that employee leaders would be given due representation in the employee welfare board once SAD formed government in the state.
