PATIALA: Congress supported by Sarpanch from Vikas Nagar Panchayat in the Patiala district was shot by armed attackers on Tuesday morning when he oversees the construction work of his new home in the area.
Police officials said the attackers pumped seven bullets to Tara Dutt, 32, with two different weapons and drove away when he fell to the ground.
The workers in that place rushed to a private hospital, where he gave up on his wounds.
Dutt, which was considered the confidence of the Minister of Congress and Patiala Rural Mla Brahm Mohindra, had gone to the construction site to provide tea to workers when the attackers reached there in three cars and fired a shot.
The police have registered a murder case of five accused identified and nine accused of being unidentified under various parts of the Indian and ARM criminal codes acting.
One of the accusations identified was a gangster that was sworn in to Congress by Patiala MP Preneet Kaur in 2019 but threw away after it caused controversy.
