Punjab: Stable power supply, when rain reduces demand

Patiala: The Punjab power crisis seems to finally subside on Mondays and Tuesdays because the demand for the country dropped dramatically with the appearance of the monsoon.
The source said the demand for state power has reached around 10,500 MW on Tuesday and 8,000 MW on Monday because of a monsoon.
The two thermal plants managed by the government are run at a half-burden capacity.
“Three Ropar’s Thermal Factory Units and the four Thermal Factory Units Lehra Mohabbat were carried out at half-fitting capacity on Tuesday, while the two GVK units and one TSPL operational unit also went on half a burden after a low demand,” said A PSPCL official.
The average power supply to the agricultural sector also remains 15.5 hours until Monday, while the average is between 6-8 hours a day in the past two weeks.
On July 12, the average supply to the AP was fixed at 15.5 hours, where the West Zone was received around 19.5 hours and the border zone received 18.4 hours of supply to AP.
