Chandigarh: BJP on Friday released the first list of 34 candidates, including both of them sitting MLA and two women for the election of Punjab assembly February 20.
BJP, Punjab Lok Congress PLC) was led – by former Chairman of Captain Amarinder Singh and Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) LED-by Rajya Sabha Sukhdev member Singh Dhindsa was fighting for the State Assembly poll at the Alliance this time.
President Punjab BJP Ashwani Sharma said that the Safron Party would take the candidate in almost 65 seats out of a total of 117 assembly constituents.
However, there was no clarity about the formula sharing the right seat between alliance partners because the discussion was still ongoing to finalize the name for the remaining assembly constituency given the ‘victory’ criteria.
National BJP Secretary General Tarun Chugh said that the party has given representation to all parts of society.
Meanwhile, the separate list released late at night, Paljab President Ashwani Kumar Sharma had been given a ticket from Pathankot.
