Chandigarh: Jerked by the second wave of Pandemic Covid-19, the Punjab government prepares for the third wave that is very feared by increasing the capacity to be able to overcome 25% of cases than the peak which is recorded during the second wave.
The second wave of Covid which began in mid-February chose steps in April and touched its peak in May, infecting 4.20 lakh people and killing 10,500.
The state has registered the highest single-day surge of 9,100 new cases on May 8 and the highest number of active cases recorded at 79,950 on May 13.
The heavy kasel was brought forward to several gaps, which according to the government now to be filled in the previous third wave hit.
As per the estimated health department on the basis of preparation being carried out, the third wave is expected to reach its peak between October-November with the highest number of daily cases and active cases as high as 11,500 and one lakh.
Do not want to be arrested, even because only about 10% of patients require hospitalization, the government has broken the percentage of patients who are expected to be hospitalized during the third wave to 15,000 – both level II and level III – the bed will be needed.
The Ministry of Health has completed training to identify government hospitals in all districts where 3,500 Level-II beds will be added, while 1,500 Level-III beds will increase in all government medical colleges.
In addition, 500 pediatric ICU beds have been intended at government facilities.
Because of the construction of resources, the state government will continue to depend on private facilities as 3,000 levels – III and 7,000 levels – II more beds will be added to private hospitals.
Hussan Lal’s main health secretary said the capacity building process had begun by anticipating that the third wave peak would be 25% more than the top of the second wave.
“Therefore, infrastructure and labor are being placed,” he added.
To overcome the lack of doctors, especially specialists, the Ministry of Health has recruited 120 specialists in the past week through running interviews.
More doctors are expected to be appointed in the coming month.

Non-Covid Health Services that are not Covid, non-Covid health services took victims during the two waves because the government was forced to close the OPD, elective operation and other services to focus on management and detention of pandemic.
The government makes efforts to ensure that non-covid health services are still not affected during the third wave which are additional workers employed.
The government also has plans to start clock emergency services in all hospitals that are currently limited to several facilities.
