Punjab to start vaccination drive in college

Chandigarh: giving encouragement to the ongoing Covid vaccination drive, the Punjab government is ready to launch a special campaign to record all students over 18 years and staff, both administrative and academic, in universities in the state.
For this purpose, special camps will be held in universities and all students and staff who qualify will be given the first dose of vaccines in July.
The decision for this effect was taken at the health response committee meeting chaired by the Head of Secretary Vini Mahajan.
He asked the health and family welfare department to appoint a team in the state and the district level for weekly review of Covid positive data to ring a warning every time the level of progress rose to anywhere in the state.
He also asked the school secretary of the principal, Hussan Lal, to appoint Nodal officers to ensure the utilization of the optimal Covid health infrastructure in the earliest state.

LAL was also asked to assign responsibility to an official to complete this task.
Asking the Ministry of Health to review the availability of fateh kits in all health and fitness centers in addition to all other health institutions in the state, the main secretary calls for status reports in this regard.
In addition, PHSC was instructed to prepare a 270 ambulance fleet, including those obtained after 2017, and old ambulance scrap, which was not feasible to use.
Emphasizing the need for adequate health workers, proper training and the right equipment to defeat the spread of the virus, the Secretary of the Head requested that the arrangement of new health institutions, including CHCS, PHC and Trauma centers, in addition to the existing health infrastructure upgrade, should be the earliest finish.
Mahajan directed the medical education department to eat a problem with a further center of the PGI satellite center in Sangrur and AIIM in Bathinda to make them strong to deal with the very anticipated covid waves.
Hussan Lal provides the main secretary that as many as 72,12,629 people who fulfill the requirements have been inoculated so far and the drive will be carried out at full speed to ensure coverage of every citizen who qualifies in the state to examine the spread of pandemic.
