Punjab Vigilance Bureau caught the former DGP Sumedh Saini

Mohali: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau arrested former Director General of Police (DGP) Sumedh Singh Saini, who had been involved in cases of murder and corruption, in a new case at the end of Wednesday night from Mohali, confirming a senior officer.
The source said that immediately after his arrest, Saini’s advice for the defense knocked on the door of the Punjab High Court and Haryana for a guarantee at night.
According to the alertness bureau, Saina has arrived at his headquarters in Mohali at around 8:10 a.m.
to join the investigation in the case under the prevention of the Corruption Act, as directed by the local court.
But it was not clear whether he was arrested in the same case or fresh charges added to him.
Saini before that day approached the local court for pre-capture guarantees to anticipate registration of new cases against him, but the court directed it to first join the investigation.
The alertness bureau has tried hard to arrest Saini before when they stormed his residence in Sector 20, Chandigarh, on August 2, when he managed to escape before the detective gathered there.
On August 4, he had resigned from the Punjab High Court and Haryana in a corruption case.
In the request, he had asked the court to direct the police punjab to take court permission before capturing him in another violation, if added in the FIR registered in a corruption case.
On August 12, the Justice Avneesh Justice bench had provided temporary guarantees to Saini, subject to investigations to join in one week, in this case.
The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has registered the case under the prevention of criminal conspiracy and criminal conspiracy against DGP, along with six others, including an executive engineer with the Department of Public Works and his father Surinderjit Singh Jaspal on 2.
The agent accused Saini has acquired the sector’s house -20 Jaspal in Chandigarh in fraudulent agreements with fake documents, using questionable financial transactions.
Previously, hearing the case of disproportionate assets, investigated by the Employee Bureau, a local court in Mohali issued an order to attach the property in question.
Additional districts and judge PS Grewal on July 16 also directed Saini to deposit a monthly rent of Rs 2.5 lakh with the court until the case process had not ended.
Saini also faced allegations of the murder of the Citco Junior Engineer of the Balwant Singh Multi.
