Bhubaneswar: The Puri District Administrative Officer on Sunday said it might take at least two weeks to be ready to welcome the worshipers to Jagannath Temple.
They are scheduled to hold a meeting with district administrative officials on August 4, after they tend to make the final date announcement for the reopening of the 12th temple.
It comes a day after the state government states the district collectors to accept counterattack places of worship in their jurisdiction after assessing the Covid situation.
The government separately asked the Collectors of Puri and Khurda Regency to hold discussions with the administration of the Jagannath and Lingaraj Temple, along with other stakeholders, before reopening the two popular temples in Puri and Bhubaneswar.
“We will take the time to dismantle three giant trains, which have been parked in front of the temple after Rath Yatra ended a few days ago.
After finishing, a large warehouse will be arranged outside the temple to allow worshipers to stand in the queue.
The warehouse was removed during RATH YATRA .
This is separate, we will subdue the servants for the RT-PCR test before the Temple of Planning for worshipers, “said a senior district official.
Although the Puri Temple has been closed for worshipers since April 24, daily rituals are being carried out by servants.
After last year’s Covid outbreak, the government had closed the Temple of Jagannath for worshipers on March 20, 2020 and reopened on December 23, 2020 only for their waiters and family members.
Waders from the Puri City area allowed Darshan from December 26 to 31 before the Shrine door opened for all of January 3 this year.
The worshipers are optimistic because their waiting will end soon.
“We were disappointed because they had missed many large festivals, especially Rath Yatra in 2020 and 2021 because of the pandemic.
Because many people in the state have been vaccinated, there is nothing wrong in allowing the access of worshipers to the temple in accordance with Covid safety prevention measures,” Chandan said Dash, a worshiper in Bhubaneswar.
