Puri plans a household survey for feedback about a sujal mission

Bhubaneswar: Two weeks after the state government starting 24×7 pipe drinking water supply in Puri, the first in this country, the district administration has launched a household survey to find out about people’s feedback and respond to the system.
“Our survey team has visited the house to find out whether residents have complaints about drinking water quality.
The survey will be completed soon,” said Chandra Mishra, the executive engineer of the Public Health Division in Puri.
Because this is a measured connection, the survey team has squeezed consumers to prevent waste or water leaks and use the right tap water to avoid increasing monthly bills.
The Chairman of the Minister of Naveen Patnik has launched a ‘Sujal’ mission, found in many foreign cities, on July 26.
The project, which is carried out at a cost of around Rs 24 Crore, is intended to supply safe drinking water from tap up to 2.5 lakh citizens of urban castle regions or cities and 2 tourists crore visit Pilgrim Place every year.
Administration said they had so far not received complaints over water quality.
At least 400 fountains have been installed in public places in the Grand Road and along the coast.
At present there is not much pressure on the fountains given a weekend shutdown and a bad tourist flow due to covid pandemic.
Only a few of the 400 beats used by pedestrians and current vendors.
Because the beat in public places has not been equipped with meters, the government has not been able to assess the volume of water consumed every day.
“We are worried about the security of meters at public water points.
But everyday water consumption from in public places is very lacking now.
The demand for water can increase when tourist feet rise,” said a district official.
The government takes nine months to place proof-proof technology to ensure proper filtration, monitoring, water quality inspection, store cleaning and pure water supply through 24×7 tap.
To ensure the purity and quality of tap water, the government adopts a method involving advanced techniques such as the real time supervision of water quality parameters at every few hundred meters, automatic sensors, activators, 100% metering in home connections, smart water management techniques with GIS-based consumers and Asset mapping.
