Bhubaneswar: 1948 More positive people tested for Covid-19 on Thursday even when Puri saw a quantum leap in the Test Place (TPR) level to 8.67% on the day compared to the weekly average of 3.28% from July 15.
As many AS 83 were received positively in the castle from 957 samples tested.
Jayant Panda, a government technical advisor in Covid, said that even though the high TPR is something that needs to be worried, it will be wrong to press the panic button based on the results of one day.
“Someone must watch the trend at least for a week to draw conclusions,” Panda said.
As has become a trend in the last two weeks, Khurda (480) and Cuttack (279) contributed most (39%) of fresh covid infections.
While Khurda’s front level is 4.12%, namely Cuttack is 4.22% of the average state of 2.45%.
The government, meanwhile, confirmed 67 deaths again, including 13 of Bhubaneswar, raising the death toll of the country’s virus to 5.308.
The country now has 19,623 active positive cases, the sixth highest in this country after Kerala (1.28 lakh), Maharashtra (94,000), Tamil Nadu (25,000), Karnataka (24,000) and Andhra Pradesh (23,000).
Meanwhile, Odisha crossed the milestone of a 1.5 crore dose of Covid vaccine after 2.36 lakh jab was given on Thursday.
While 34.88 people were both doses, 1.16 crore had at least one.
The state has been vaccinated by 11,135 pregnant women so far.
