Putin and Assad held talks in Moscow in the rebels

Damascus: Vladimir Putin and Assad Bashar Syria Russia have held talks in Moscow about cooperation between their troops and how to continue the operation to obtain the control of the rebels in Syria, government media in Damascus reported on Tuesday.
The meeting between the two presidents was the first because they held a summit in the Syrian capital in January last year.
Syria State TV described it as a long meeting but did not determine when it happened.
TV said both of them later joined the Syrian Foreign Minister and Russian Defense Minister to discuss reciprocal relations and fight terrorism.
Putin and Assad also discussed the political process in a torn war, said TV.
Russia joined the 10-year Syrian conflict in September 2015, told the balance of power for Assad, whose troops were now controlling most countries.
Hundreds of Russian troops were deployed throughout Syria and they also had a military air base along Syrian Mediterranean coast.
“I am happy to meet you in Moscow, six years after surgery with us to fight terrorism,” said Assad quoted by Syria TV.
In recent weeks, Syrian opposition activists said that Russian fighter aircraft had strikes in the northwestern province, Idlib, the last major rebel fortress in the country.
