Putin is expected to order new virus restrictions as soaring deaths

Moscow: Russia reported Wednesday a record of 1,028 Covid deaths in one day, with President Vladimir Putin is expected to introduce new national restrictions in the country affected by the worst in Europe.
These new numbers bring Russia’s official death toll of 226,353 – the highest in the continent even when the authorities were accused of underestimating the severity of the pandemic.
The country also recorded 34,074 new virus cases, according to official counting.
The infection rate has surged in the last few weeks in the midst of a traffic jammed vaccination program, with only 35 percent of the countries that are completely announced.
Putin is estimated later on Wednesday to rule the government’s proposal to introduce a vacation for a week at the end of the month to curb the spread of the virus.
Under the plan, Russia will not go to work in the first week of November, which coincides with the national school holidays.
Putin has introduced a paid vacation during the previous coronavirus peak, recently in May.
On Tuesday, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin ordered the first Coronavirus limit of the capital since the summer.
He told more than 60s in Moscow to work from home and expand mandatory vaccination for service workers.
These restrictions come into force next Monday and are arranged to last until the end of February.
Sobyanin also told the employer to move their 30 percent of their staff to work.
Surge in cases has come without strict restrictions to limit the spread of Covid-19 and when authorities struggle to fight widespread anti-vaccine sentiment.
Life in Moscow, which is home to more than 12 million people, normally on Wednesday, with restaurants and entertainment venues in other rooms open as usual.
Officials warned the worst has not arrived and that the number of hospitalization grows at a rate faster than the previous wave.
“The Coronavirus situation in Moscow deteriorated,” said Deputy Mayor of Anastasia City Rakova.
He said it was the first time the capital had seen 30 percent growth in case for five consecutive weeks.
“In the previous period, we observed a high growth rate.” Russia has struggled to enapoculate its citizens even though domestic vaccines including sputnik v are widely available.
Even though Putin repeatedly called Russia to get vaccinations, independent polls showed that more than half did not plan to get a chance.
The 69-year-old leader said he had been vaccinated with Sputnik V.
Last month, he was isolated himself for two weeks after dozens of cases of viruses detected in the inner circle.
The old Russian leader confirmed that the country had handled better pandemics than most countries, but even high officials recently voiced concern.
Pyotr Tolstoy, Deputy Chairperson of the Building, said that at the end of the week that the authorities had “really lost the” information campaign in Coronavirus.
“There is no trust in people to go and vaccinate themselves, it is a fact,” he said.
Putin’s spokesman on Tuesday urged Russia to become “more responsible” and acknowledge that the government can do more to explain the “lack of alternatives for vaccines”.
The Western vaccine is not available in Russia, and Peskov insists that bringing them to the country will not help slow vaccination levels.
On Monday, the second city of Saint Petersburg announced it would strengthen restrictions to fight the virus, introducing health licenses to regulate access to crowd events starting November 1.
