Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Sunday that the conflict in Afghanistan directly affected the security situation in Russia, the Russian news agency reported.
Putin criticized the idea of several Western countries to send refugees from Afghanistan to Central Asian countries adjacent while their visas to the United States and Europe were being processed.
He said Russia did not want Afghan guerrillas to arrive under refugee protection, the news agency Ria quoted it.
