Lucknow: Abdullah Azam, MP’s son Rampur Azam Khan, was released from Sitapur as a Saturday night after being in prison for 23 months.
However, his release was postponed because of the difference in the release sequence that was changed and sent to the part of the prison.
Abdullah along with his father Azam was put forward in Sitapur Jail on February 27, 2020.
Azam was still in prison.
According to the Suresh Singh prison supervisor, Abdullah had 43 cases in his name from Rampi who became the prison authorities received release orders.
Singh told TII that in one release order, the difference was found after the new order was sent from the Rampi Court, which resulted in a delay.
Abdullah supporters have gathered outside the prison to greet him.
The SP MP from Rampur, Khan has given up in the court and sent to prison in the case of forgery.
Then, he shifted to Sitapur Jail with his wife Tanzeen Fatima and Son Abdullah.
In 2019, Allahabad High Court had stated Abdullah’s election as SP MLA NULL and was canceled on the grounds that he was under 25 years old when he had submitted his nomination for the election of the 2017 assembly of the flare constituency.
Later, this case was petitoned at the Supreme Court which in January 2020 refused to remain a command of the High Court of Allahabad.
Now with Abdullah’s release, he has another chance to hold elections.
