Bengaluru: Growing, Nisha Warsi has limited ambitions.
He always has an interest in sports, but he wants to play one who will not burn a hole in his parents’ bag.
His family cannot pay much and work through sports is always welcome.
He chose hockey.
Cut to 2021, and Nisha headed to the Tokyo Olympics.
He kept a dream of standing on the podium, arms were interconnected with a team of Indian hockey teams and made his country and parents proud.
Defender, who was 26 weeks ago, was arranged to make his game debut.
Nisha spoken soft, the product from the Commonwealth Games of the Gold Medal of the Academy of Pritam Rani Siwach in Sonepet, Haryana, has struggled with many private battles – other than the usual devil doubt self-demanded by the highest player – to get to where I am.
His father, Sohrab Ahamad, was a tailor before the stroke in 2015 made him paralyzed and forced him to stop.
His mother, Mahroon, worked at a manufacturing foam factory for several years before Nisha landed a job by train.
At one point, social obstacles force Nisha to get out of the game.
However, the coach Siwach convinced his parents to allow him to pursue his dream.
Fortunately, the break was short.
“Life is not easy,” said Nisha.
“I am always very excited about sports, but we lead the existence of hands-to-mouth and my parents cannot invest in my sportsman’s career.
I took hockey because we didn’t need to spend the equipment.” The pillar strengthened the initial reluctance of his daughter’s career choices, Mahroon changed the pillar of strength.
“The land is about 30 minutes and I have to leave home at 430 in the morning.
I’m afraid of traveling alone.
My father will drop me in his bicycle and my mother will go up and around 4 in the morning to start his job which starts by waking me up and making breakfast,” said Nisha, “said Nisha,” said Nisha, The third among the four siblings.
In time, Nisha became a regular member of the Haryana team and then the train unit.
Income makes life at home much more comfortable.
In 2018, Nisha was picked for the Indian camp but the decision to leave home was not easy.
“My father depends on us for all his needs.
He entered and left the hospital.
I wondered if my family would succeed.
My mother’s sister entered to help us and my family asked me not to worry,” he explained.
In the international arena, Nisha was a late Bloomer, after missing the Indian junior team.
He made international debut in 2019 in the FINT FINT series in Hiroshima and since it gets nine Indian caps.
Like the whole world, the pandemic is not easy in Nisha, who spends a better part of last year – half in the National Camp in Sai, the South Center here.
“This is difficult times.
I am constantly worried about my family, especially my father.
The situation has made me more determined to do it well,” said Nisha, whose family celebrates the selection of the Olympic team by distributing candy to the environment.
But Nisha realized that the moment of truth was in front of him.
“We all have worked very hard for the Olympics and stay focused.
We want to make all the sacrifices count,” he said.
