Lucknow: Olympic Medal Twice PV Sindhu rallied from the game to Eke out of the hard victory over Supanida Supanida Supanda to enter the semifinals from the Super 300 Syed Modi International Super 300 tournament here on Friday.
The top seed India defeated his Thai rival, seeded sixth in the tournament, 11-21, 21-12, 21-17 in the quarter-final match which lasted an hour and five minutes.
Sindhu will face the fifth seed Evgeniya Kosetskaya in the semifinals.
However, in Single Men, HS Prannoy fell from the tournament with a direct defeat to Arnaud Merkle from France in the quarter-finals.
The fifth seed Indian, former Top 10 player, lost 19-21, 16-21 to his French opponents in the 59-minute quarter-final match.
Mithun Manjunath, however, advanced to the semifinals after defeating the Sergey Sirant of Russia 11-21, 21-12, 21-18 in the quarter-final match which lasted one hour.
Manjunath will face Merkle in the semifinals.
In mixed doubles, the Indian couple from Mr Arjun and Treesesa Jolly beat eight Duo French seed William Villeger and Anne Tran 24-22, 21-17 in a quarter-final match which lasted 42 minutes.
Arjun and Jolly will face compatriot and a pair of seventh seed from Ishaan Bhatnagar and Tanisha Crasto in the semifinals.
In the double quarter-finals of women, Ramya Venkatesh Chickmenahalli and APEXHA nayak admitted the eighth Walkover Malaysian Pair Anna Ching Yik Cheong and Teoh Mei Xing.
